Liver Awareness Month
October is National Liver Awareness Month. It's a time to raise awareness about liver health, liver diseases, and the importance of liver function. The month is dedicated to educating the public about liver diseases like cirrhosis, liver cancer, and hepatitis, and promoting prevention and early detection.
Understanding the importance of liver disease is crucial because the liver is a vital organ with many essential functions, and damage to it can lead to serious health problems, including liver failure and even death.
There is a need to increase public awareness about liver disease and its various forms, as stigma can hinder early detection and treatment.
Become part of something meaningful. Support can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by liver disease.

BE STEVE'S HERO
Living liver donation while a significant decision, doesn't need to be a source of fear. It involves a major surgical procedure for the donor, but the process is carefully managed, and the risks, though present, are well understood. Living donors can significantly impact the recipient's life, potentially saving them from severe illness or even death. The donor's liver regenerates, and they can return to a normal, healthy life.
